The Federal Office for Radiation Protection in Germany introduced UCS in 2006 and recently updated to UCS 3.1 in May 2013, thus profiting from the Active Directory functions which are available in UCS thanks to the integration of the free software Samba 4.
Samba 4 was integrated in Univention Corporate Server (UCS) 1.5 years ago. Since then it has been offering UCS users Active Directory functionality with which domains and their users, groups, group policies and computers can be administered in both Windows and Linux environments.
This video demonstrates the features of the Univention Management Console, the “single point of administration” for the system administration and the domain and virtualization management.
With UCS 3.1, Univention are offering organisations an easy-to-use operating and management solution for internal or cloud-hosted IT infrastructures.
With UCS 3.1, IT administrators can now easily select, install and operate UCS-certified applications via the new component “Univention App Center”.
