The well respected backup solution for SAP HANA from SEP AG known as SEP sesam has had it’s certification renewed by SAP. As both SAP HANA and SEP sesam are constantly being updated this provides customers with the assurance that SEP is up-to-date and meeting all SAP certification requirements.
At the SAP University Competence Center (SAP UCC) in Magdeburg, the old HPE StoreOnce solution with DataProtector was due to be replaced. A new and flexible software solution for data backup had to be found. This had to support HPE Catalyst, which was envisaged on the storage side and, in doing so, be able to backup the different and virtual solutions around the most diverse SAP applications and databases in a certified manner.

SEP AG has released an update; Tigon V2 (4.4.3.48). Featuring a number of enhancements including support for the Kopano messaging platform.

SEP sesam is a “hybrid backup” solution and the version code name Tigon, a Tiger/Lion hybrid animal, is a neat play on words!
